SFC (R) Daniel McKinney

Daniel Charles McKinney, Sergeant First Class (RET) from the US Army, 63, passed away on November 26, 2014 after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. A decorated veteran of Viet Nam and Iraq, receiving multiple Purple Hearts, Dan served his country with pride and honor. After recovering from injuries received in a suicide bombing while serving as a Special Operations soldier in Iraq, he worked with the USSOCOM Care Coalition as a Wounded Warrior Liaison for Special Operations Forces wounded, ill and injured. He dedicated his remaining years in uniform to the care of his brothers and sisters in arms. Dan left a lasting impact on those he encountered. He inspired fierce loyalty in his friends and was blessed with a diverse group of friends across the globe. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all. Rest easy Soldier, your duty is done.
